Harve de Grace, Maryland – December 5, 2024 – The Breast Cancer Survivorship Foundation (BCSF) hosted a successful Afternoon Tea Experience Fundraiser, at the exquisite Bulle Rock Residence Club on Thursday, December 5, 2024. This elegant event brought together survivors, advocates, supporters, and community members to celebrate thriving beyond a diagnosis of breast cancer while fostering a sense of camaraderie and hope.
The Afternoon Tea Experience was designed as a social gathering and an opportunity for education and empowerment. Attendees enjoyed a delightful assortment of teas, gourmet pastries, and sandwiches, all served by Exquisite Table Service. The event highlighted the BCSF’s commitment to pay for breast screening exams for women uninsured and underinsured. The event served as a platform to allow survivors/thrivers to share their stories, connect with others, and access vital resources.
“We wanted to create an event that was both enjoyable and meaningful for our community,” said Carmen Brown Marshall, Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Survivorship Foundation. “This Afternoon Tea Experience allowed us to bring together those affected by breast cancer an opportunity to connect and find strength in shared experiences.”
The highlight of the event was an open discussion including healthcare professionals and inspiring cancer survivors. They spoke candidly about their journeys, covering topics such as the emotional and physical impacts of cancer treatment, the importance of mental health during recovery, and the latest advancements in breast cancer research. Guests were encouraged to ask questions, fostering an open dialogue about survivorship and resilience.
