About

The Breast Cancer Survivorship Foundation exists to help women thrive beyond a diagnosis of breast cancer. We educate and advocate for personalized breast screenings, documenting family history, and awareness of risk factors that impact breast health.

The Breast Cancer Survivorship Foundation (BCSF) is a nonprofit, 501c3, organization dedicated to increasing the number of women surviving breast cancer. We serve underrepresented and underserved communities by providing education to inspire taking action and advocating for the best care.

Breast cancer gets tons of attention and funding, yet women of color still have a 41% chance of dying from the disease. Healthcare inequity impacts women of color disproportionately. Our organization works diligently to change this one woman, one family, and one community at a time.

Our mission is to bridge the disparity gap in mortality rates for women of color by raising awareness of the importance of breast health as early as age 18. We strive to empower women by advocating women perform breast-self examinations monthly and knowing what action to take when normal changes are discovered. We educate on risk factors, centering on conversations around breast density and how to advocate for personalized screening even before age 40!

There are many, beautiful women being diagnosed with breast cancer. Some are in their 30’s. The Breast Cancer Survivorship Foundation supports screening for early detection to maximize opportunities for care and treatment. Find it! Treat it! Beat it and get on with living life.

Some of us are survivors. Once diagnosed with breast cancer, we know that it is a personal journey. Maintain your essence, loveliness, and beauty as you fight your battle. Why? Because God has made us in His image. We are fearfully and wonderfully made as a masterpiece by the Master. Find your support system or a support group that matches your values and personality that will help to lift and keep you inspired. Maybe start a group but keep it simple and fun.

If you haven’t done so in a while, get a makeover. Have a professional pamper and highlight your natural beauty. Be proactive if hair loss is anticipated. Experiment with different colors and styles of wigs. Find that hat that’s just right, Invest in classes that teach how to use scarves and other accessories to highlight your facial features. Take pictures and keep a journal every step of the way.

No matter what, refuse to live in fear and never go down without a fight!
